ONE OF ONLY FIVE FA CHARTER STATUS COMMUNITY FOOTBALL CLUBS IN SUSSEX |
||||
|
We currently run a mixture of teams from U7 through to U16 including girls only teams at the U11, U13 and U15 age groups. We have between 300 and 350 boys and girls registered at any time and play our home matches in and around the Roffey area of Horsham in West Sussex. We actively support the need for quality training in football skills and expect all our managers and assistants to, as a minimum gain the FA Level 1 Coaching certificate, which includes emergency first aid and child protection training. We are one of only 5 clubs in Sussex to acheive FA Charter Status as a Community Football Club. We are affiliated to the Sussex County Football Association. Apart for registration fees the majority of our funding comes from two specific events, an annual dance and a ‘six-a-side’; tournament which is held on the May Bank Holiday weekend Age groups relate to the school year structure with for example U11 referring to Year 6 in Primary school or U11 on the 1st of August 2005. All age groups refer to Under the age as of 1st of August 2005. Up to U10, games are based on the FA Mini-Soccer Rules with 6 a side teams. Typically, two separate games are played on the day with different players from the Squad. This is referred to as the Friendly League or Section. At U11 and above 11 a side football rules are applied and a full League structure is used with promotion and relegation each year. The major exceptions to the adult rules being the size of the pitch, the ability to use rolling substitutes and the length of the game (60 minutes to the full 90 minutes depending on age). |
